Community Experience Lead

 

About You 

Want to help build the foundations of the new decentralized web? Passionate about shaping a seamless experience for newcomers to web3 communities? Love taking the time and effort to provide a personal, intimate experience within a community? Have a keen eye for tools, programs and processes to support communities at scale?

The Role

Livepeer is hiring a Community Experience Lead to manage a world class, welcoming and vibrant home for its open source contributors. You will set the standard for Livepeer’s community-driven success, by empowering and supporting a diverse set of stakeholders with a shared interest in Livepeer’s mission to build the web3 video infrastructure. 

You'll help tackle some of the most novel challenges in blockchain technology by working closely with Livepeer’s rapidly growing community of token holders, node operators, video developers, creators and many more who share a passion for video technology and experiences in the decentralized web. 

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the day-to-day experience of being part of the Livepeer community. You will ensure Livepeer is a welcoming home where anyone who is interested can easily find their unique contribution, feel a sense of belonging and stay actively engaged. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Managing a smooth onboarding journey into the Livepeer community from various acquisition channels; 
  • Nurturing an open source culture within Livepeer by serving as the liaison between the Livepeer core team and broader Livepeer community; 
  • Surfacing ideas from the community and helping to facilitate their development into actionable projects or governance proposals;
  • Collaborating with members of the core team to find and surface opportunities for community contributions to ecosystem and network priorities; 
  • Developing and owning metrics to track the health of our community and support Livepeer’s decentralization roadmap;
  • Designing and managing a creative, well-attended community events calendar that includes collaborative events with other projects and communities in the Livepeer ecosystem;
  • Working with the Livepeer product team to support contributor opportunities in the open source product roadmap;
  • Proactively identifying and implementing tools and structures to help our community evolve and scale. 

What success looks like

  • New community members receive an enthusiastic welcoming and rapid onboarding, with clear pathways to learn and get oriented to the Livepeer ecosystem
  • Community members know where and who to go to as various needs arise, with different platforms (Discord, Forum, Twitter, etc.) having clear and distinct purposes 
  • Individuals remain engaged once they join the community, with various touch points and programs to engage different personas
  • You know the community personally and deeply, and can identify who in the community will care and should give feedback on a new idea or product 


Requirements

  • Experience building, growing and leading communities and a desire to empower and showcase the work of others.
  • Instinct for engaging all types of people and making them feel welcome.
  • You have deep involvement and experience in the web3 DAO landscape, and you're familiar with Livepeer.
  • You enjoy collaboration and have no problem working in large or small groups.
  • Experience with tools that optimize community efficiency and effectiveness in a digital world (Discord, Zoom, Airtable, Notion, etc.).
  • A proven track record of being reliable in fast paced environments. Team mates can always depend on you to - keep the ball rolling, keep everyone in the loop, have the necessary information, get things done.
  • You are kind, supportive, and want to be part of a team that’s shaping the evolution of the world.
  • An active and curious Web3 learner, interested in building your knowledge and network.
  • Excellent communications skills, ability to empathize with customer challenges, adept at problem solving
  • Organized in tracking, surfacing, solving questions and pain points
