Monthly Wrap-up: June 2026

Each month, this roundup collects the news from across Livepeer: the protocol, the teams funded by the community treasury, and the people building on the network.
In June, Network Engineering awarded its first direct grant, $15k to the Payment Clearinghouse, and Protocol R&D's renewal went on-chain. With the treasury at its 750K LPT ceiling, a proposal opened to restart the share of staking rewards it receives.
Protocol
- TicketBroker hardened against a griefing attack. A protocol update on June 25 stops a ticket from being redeemed for only part of its value.
Funded work
- Network Engineering has all three funding lanes live. Its first direct grant is out, and its first RFP delivered milestones 1 and 2.
- First direct grant goes to the Payment Clearinghouse. $15k to John Mull of Elite Code Solutions.
- Protocol R&D renewed for six months. The $300K continuation went on-chain on June 5.
- The delegator staking study goes to community review. Milestones 1–3 are delivered, and the final draft is open for seven days of comment.
- Retroactive grant application: Livepeer Workflow Kit, by shane.
- Retroactive grant application: a Discord protocol data bot and public API, by MikeZupper.
Treasury & governance
- A proposal to restart the treasury reward cut. The treasury hit its 750K LPT ceiling, so the share of staking rewards it receives dropped to 0%. The pre-proposal would restart it at 10%.
- An RFC on diversifying the treasury. A 90-day framework for treasury diversification and volume-weighted governance.
- dob on fees, taxes and token sinks. A tokenomics discussion on recycled fees and network taxes.
What's next
- The delegator staking study: the final report follows its seven-day community review.
- Protocol R&D: another protocol update in July, under its new monthly release cycle.
